M-1 Tool Works began its operation in October 1984 at the present location, 1419 S. Belden Street in McHenry, Illinois with Martin Ryba as President and Karin Peter as V/P -Secretary/Treasurer. The main purpose of the new company was to provide it’s customers with superior service and unequalled quality product. Initially the company leased a 2400 square foot facility, a year later adding another 2400 square feet and in 1990 finally purchasing present location building of 15,000 square feet. At first there were four employees with steady growth to the present number of 30. In almost 20 years of existence, the company has gone thru a technological transformation from mostly manually operated machines to complete CNC equipped shop with highly trained employees. The areas of industries served include medical, food processing, beverage and food can tooling, industrial automation, defense and aerospace, automobile racing. During the years of operation, quality, service, diversity of product and wide customer base were the top priorities in the direction of growth, along with providing a challenging and rewarding place to work for its employees.
